   Proposal Description:
   Paper aim: To assess how changes in blood pressure relate to changes in cognition. To examine this using systolic, diastolic and pulse pressure, and to understand these relationships with respect to disease, age, gender and comorbidities:  A) Is there a difference in baseline blood pressure and longitudinal change in blood pressure in controls, MCI and AD patients?  B) What are the relationships between baseline and changes in blood pressure with cognitive decline scores in each group? How are these relationships different in patients who have been treated with antihypertensives?   C) What are the relationships of age at baseline and gender to blood pressure change? Do relationships between BP and cognition vary according to age and level of frailty? Are cognition and blood pressure relationships mediated by cardiovascular events- such as TIA and stroke, or apoE e genotype, in those whom it is measured?    ------------------------------------------------------Imaging---------------------------------------------------------------  Paper 2 title: Blood pressure markers are associated with changes in brain volume in controls, MCI and AD subjects. B) Is there a difference in baseline brain volume according to baseline blood pressure? Is this different between patient groups? Do relationships remain following age, gender, and apoe E adjustment?
